Special Issues Guide
IJISE regularly publishes special issues to highlight emerging topics and foster focused discussions within the global scientific community. We invite recognized experts to submit a guest editor application and lead a targeted call for papers. These specialized collections of articles bring together innovative research under the guidance of field leaders. How our Special Issues operate:
- Expert Leadership: Each issue is managed by appointed Guest Editors who are recognized authorities in the specific topic.
- Rigorous Standards: All submissions undergo the exact same strict, double-blind peer-review process as our regular journal articles.
- Editorial Oversight: The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board rigorously evaluate all proposals to ensure thematic relevance and scientific quality.
- Maximum Visibility: Published articles are grouped and showcased on a dedicated Special Issue webpage to maximize reach and citation potential.
Who is eligible to serve as a Guest Editor?
- A recognized expert in the relevant field with access to a wide network of potential authors and reviewers.
- Committed to dedicating sufficient time and effort to guarantee the quality of all manuscripts in the Special Issue.
What are the Guest Editor’s responsibilities before submitting a proposal?
Serving as a Guest Editor is a rewarding opportunity to lead the discourse on specific engineering advancements. Interested experts are encouraged to complete the form below with a brief proposal outlining the topic and its significance. A list of potential contributing authors with affiliations and their reviewed manuscripts, the Guest Editor sends to the Editor-in-Chief after the deadline. To maintain our rigorous academic standards and foster global scientific collaboration, Special Issue proposals must adhere to the following criteria:
- Theme Proposal: A formal proposal must be submitted to the Editorial Office via email, outlining the specific topic, its scientific significance, and its relevance to current engineering advancements.
- Minimum Contributions: The finalized Special Issue must consist of a minimum of 4 successfully peer-reviewed and accepted articles and one mandatory introductory Editorial written by the Guest Editor.
- International Diversity: To ensure a truly global perspective, at least one published paper within the issue must be authored by researchers affiliated with institutions outside the Journal Adriatic/Balkan region.
In the case that a Guest Editor’s Special Issue fails to reach the minimum required number of papers, all successfully peer-reviewed and accepted manuscripts will be published in the journal’s regular issues.
